Skin Care Over 30

October 10th, 2007 by admin

beauty products

So you’ve reached your 30s. You’re a real grown up now. Those college keggers are behind you, and you are well on your way to huge rewards for all your hard work. Unfortunately, now is also the time to look into changing your skin care products, cosmetics and other beauty products. Why, you ask; because your skin isn’t the same as it was ten years ago. Don’t panic, that doesn’t mean all is lost, and holding on to your youthful glow is impossible. It just means you have to change things up a bit.

In our 30s, we need to pay particular attention to the skin around our eyes. That being said, pay close attention to skin care products with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, alpha hydroxy acid, copper and vitamin c. These ingredients stimulate collagen growth, which we need in our 30s. You also want beauty products with ingredients like vitamin k, kojic acid and hydroquinone, which help lighten those dark circles all that hard work has left under your eyes. Use your cosmetics sparingly, once you hit 30, because it will lie in those fine lines and wrinkles we all want to hide.

So now you know how to care for your eyes, so what about the rest of your face? Again, skin care products and beauty products that help boost collagen are key. Retinoid products have been well documented to help reduce brown spots and smooth wrinkles, so keep that in mind next time you’re at the beauty counter. The good news is that there are many cosmetics that now contain these ingredients as well.

Skin care in your 20s doesn’t take much more than a good washing and decent moisturizer. Don’t become complacent in your 30s and think you can keep the same beauty regime you’ve had for the past ten years. You may not notice the difference in your skin right away, but little by little age will creep on you. Turning 30 should be a celebration, not a death sentence. By knowing the right skin care products to look for, cosmetics to apply and beauty products to buy, you can look as young as you feel.

Tanning Tips for Winter

October 8th, 2007 by admin

With summer winding down, that pasty winter skin is on its way back. We all know how much our skin care beauty improves with that golden tan, so why not make it last all year long? There are many skin care products on the market that claim to give you a natural looking tan, but do they? That’s a matter of opinion, I suppose, but many self-tanners look like we just slathered a bunch of cosmetics all over our body. However, there are some tips you can follow that will help you look like a natural looking sun-kissed goddess.

Skin care products like self-tanning gels and lotions are all over the place, but many hamper your skin care beauty by leaving discoloration and splotchy patches behind. So before grabbing just any random cosmetic products, test them out first. Do a test swipe or spray, before you make a purchase, to ensure you are happy with the consistency and how they go on your skin. For best results, use a loofah sponge in the shower to scrub off any dead skin. It is also very important to wait until you are completely dry, before you apply the self-tanner. Putting it on while you’re still wet will cause it to go on uneven, which means it will also dry that way.

Another important tip to enhance your skin care beauty is to apply your self-tanner sparingly around your feet and toes. These areas have so many curves that you run the risk of blotching. There is nothing worse than having a perfectly applied tan on 95 percent of your body, only to be caught with a fake bake because of your feet. Mixing your self-tanner with skin care products like lotion will help give you a subtler glow, if you don’t want to look like you’ve spent a week in the Bahamas while everyone around you knows that you haven’t.

So, if you want to cut down on having to apply layers and layers of cosmetics just to look like you haven’t been hold up in an igloo all winter long, try enhancing your skin care beauty with a sun-kissed look that will even have you believing you have spent time in the sun.

The Secret to Cosmetics

October 5th, 2007 by admin

If you are anything like me, you have drawers and bagfuls of cosmetics lying around your house. We purchase these beauty products in the hopes of enhancing our looks and improving our skin care beauty. But, do you know the secret to buying the right cosmetics, or what ingredients are in them? Ya, me either, but there are some important things we should all know about our beauty products.

The first potential problem facing our skin care beauty is allergic reactions. As my doctor once told me, “you don’t know you have an allergy, until you have a reaction.” You don’t want to discover your allergic to your cosmetics by having it break out in hives. That being said, you should know that natural doesn’t always mean non-allergic. Beauty products that contain rosemary, tea tree oil, lavender and chamomile can irritate your skin and cause a reaction.

You also want to be very careful, when sampling cosmetics at your local makeup counter. Make sure you apply the beauty products with a disposable applicator. This will help reduce the risk of contamination. You don’t want to threaten your skin care beauty by rubbing somebody else’s germs all over your face. While we’re at it, don’t share makeup with your friends either. This is a common occurrence, among the younger set. That’s why you see so many teenagers running around with pinkeye.

Be careful when you are looking for all natural cosmetic skin care beauty products. Just because they say they are all natural doesn’t mean they are. In fact, “the botanical or plant sounding components that are in beauty products labeled “natural” are usually synthesized in a laboratory.” I’m not really sure how they get away with this, but they do. Besides, all natural isn’t always better for you. I mean there is a reason they started putting chemicals into products in the first place.

Buying cosmetic and beauty products should be fun. Breaking out in skin irritations does nothing to enhance our skin care beauty, so be careful and diligent and you can buy products that will make you glow.

Pamper Your Eyes

October 1st, 2007 by admin

Skin Care ProductsWhen it comes to skin care beauty, nothing is more important than they type of beauty products we use for our eyes. Because the skin under and around our eyes is thinner than the rest of our body, it is very important to ensure you are using the right skin care products for them. After all, our eyes are the windows to our souls; doesn’t it make sense to pamper them?

When it comes to skin care beauty for our eyes, we are generally looking for them to do two things; tighten under eye skin to reduce puffiness and lighten dark circles. That means you need to look for beauty products that target those specific areas. On that note, one ingredient you want to make sure is in any of your skin care products is hyaluronic acid. But, as well shall see, there are many more.

If you are looking for skin care products that firm your skin, you want to look for the following ingredients; hyaluronic acid, caffeine, alcohol, retinal, alpha hydroxy acid, copper and vitamin C. Caffeine and alcohol will temporarily dehydrate the skin, which gives it a firmer, tauter appearance. Retinal, hyluronic acid, alpha hydroxy acids, copper and vitamin C actually work underneath the skin to stimulate collagen growth.

If dark circles are your concern, you want to look for ingredients such as vitamin K, kojic acid and hydroquinone. Because vitamin K helps reduce bruising, it is believed to also help reduce the signs of dark circles. Kojic acid and hydroquinone are skin-lightners that can help tone down the darkness. We all want to look our best, whether that mean younger our just more refreshed, and knowing the right beauty products to buy goes a long way in helping us achieve our skin care beauty goals.

As you can see, skin care beauty for the eyes is different than the beauty product you use for the rest of your face. As a matter of fact, it may be the most important skin care product to purchase, because our eyes are often the first to show the signs of age. So, keep a list of these ingredients handy, and don’t buy your next skin care product without it.

Skin Care for Hands

September 28th, 2007 by admin

skin care productsFor many people, their hands are the tools by which they express themselves. The hands are a conduit through which we express love by cooking for our families and loved ones, touching their hearts and souls, caressing our children and messaging stress away. With all this important work, you would think we would be more aware of our hand’s skin care beauty. Sadly, hands show the signs of age earlier than other parts of our body. But, with the proper skin care products and attention to detail, we can greatly improve their cosmetic look.

There are a plethora of problems that can affect our hands. Conditions such as redness and irritation, dry, flaky skin and saggy, loose skin put a serious strain on our skin care beauty. We all know there are many cosmetic procedures for the rest of our body, but there aren’t as many for our hands. This is why skin care products play such a vital role in helping them. One of the most common problems facing our hands is redness and irritation.

If you are one of the many people who suffer from this annoying problem, there are skin care products that can help. The first thing you should do, to help improve your skin care beauty in this area is to lay off the soap. We wash our hands so many times throughout the day that we need to ensure that we don’t dry them out. Soap can contain many harsh chemicals that not only dry out the skin, but also can cause even more irritation to an already nasty problem. In order to help improve your hands cosmetic look try using products like Motton Brown Mulberry Hand Wash. This cleanser is glycerin based, and will help soothe your hands without drying them out. If you are one of those who suffer from dry, flaky skin, read on.

Again, the first thing you want to do, to help improve your cosmetic look, is to avoid harsh soaps that only serve to dry out your skin even more. Victoria’s Secret has a skin care product that will help get rid of the dead skin cells that cause dry, flaky skin. Victoria’s Secret Spa Renewing Hand Smoother uses stearic and linoleic acids that improve your hand’s skin care beauty immensely. Now, on to saggy, loose skin.

There is actually a skin care product out there that will greatly improve your hand’s skin care beauty, in the area of sagging skin. Jessica Nails Jessana Marine Collagen Gel helps your cosmetic look by helping to tighten and add contour. So as you can see, we don’t have to ignore the skin care beauty of our hands. There are skin care products out there to choose from, no matter what your cosmetic issue is. Your wellness and beauty are in your own hands, so to speak.

Enhance Your Natural Beauty

September 26th, 2007 by admin

skin care productsAsk any man and he will tell you they like their woman to look natural. They may think this means a face devoid of any cosmetic beauty products, but we know better … right ladies? Getting that clear complexion takes a lot of skin care products and makeup. The trick is in knowing how to apply your cosmetics so that it looks like you are not wearing any at all, or at the very least enhances your natural beauty. The key to this is matching the color of your foundation with the tones of your skin. You also want to use cosmetic colors that go well with your skin tone.

There are three basic skin tones to work with; beige, olive and yellow. If you match your beauty products properly, you will be amazed at the results. And, the great news is that many cosmetic companies are making more and more skin care products that suit each of these skin tones. If, for example, you have a beige skin tone, you want beauty products with a touch of peach or pink. For your lips, choose shades in the peach, pink or apricot family, and finish off with a shimmering lip-gloss in the same color palette.

If you have an olive skin tone, you want to apply beauty products and cosmetics with warmer colors like golden brown. If you are looking for that sun-kissed look, try skin care products that have a touch of bronzer in them. For those of you with a yellow skin tone, stick with warmer hues with a yellow base. Pink lip shades and clear gloss go well with yellow skin as well.

So, if your man likes you au natural – so to speak – make sure you are applying the right cosmetic beauty products. And keep up with your skin care product regime as well, in order to keep your skin healthy, with or without makeup.

How to Treat “Backne”

September 24th, 2007 by admin

skin care productsOk, here’s an issue many of us suffer from but rarely talk about; back acne, or “backne” as it is commonly called. Gross I know, but it happens nonetheless. While it is more common in men than women, the fairer sex gets it too. This annoying condition does nothing to improve our skin care beauty, that’s for sure: And it’s difficult to get skin care products back there, unless you are lucky enough to have a loved one willing to help out. There are beauty products that can help, but one of the best things you can do is to never let perspiration – on your back – dry.

The same thing as acne causes Backne, which is excess oil that clogs our skin’s pores causing bacteria to form and create an infection. So, not only do those nasty little buggers hamper our skin care beauty, they can lead to serious medical problems to your skin as well. Beauty products and other skin care products like exfoliants, toners and restoring lotions can be very effective in keeping the area clean, but a good old-fashioned shower works best.

If you find yourself sweating, jump into a shower and immediately rinse it off, before the perspiration has a chance to dry. This can help your skin care beauty by preventing backne altogether, but if you are already affected, there are ways to treat it. Start off by purchasing skin care products like a back scrubber, mild cleanser and ointment. These beauty products are easy to find and very affordable. After stepping out of the shower, dry thoroughly and apply the ointment over the backne.

I am the last one to admit to having backne, but I won’t let that stop me from improving my skin care beauty. Just remember, with the proper skin care products and beauty products, you don’t have to suffer from it either.

Common Skincare Problems

September 21st, 2007 by admin

When it comes to skin care beauty, there are myriad of problems that can ruin all our hard work, and impede on all those expensive cosmetic skin care products we purchase. We all know how frustrating it is to put so much time, effort and money into taking care of our skin, only to wake up in the morning to a face we don’t recognize. That being said, I’m going to discuss some of the most common conditions that hamper our skin care beauty, and the steps we can take, and cosmetic skin care products we can use, to help repair the damage.

The first problem facing our cosmetic beauty is sun damage. There is almost nothing else that affects our skin care beauty more, except, perhaps, smoking. Many skin care products on the market incorporate SPF in their ingredients, which is a great thing. But, make sure you’re buying a product with SPF of 15 or higher, otherwise you will still suffer the affects of the sun. Another great remedy is exfoliating.

Exfoliating sloughs off the first layer of dead skin. This improves skin care beauty greatly by getting rid of dull looking skin. It’s also a great way to diminish those fine lines and wrinkles that lie on the surface of the skin. You can purchase skin care products that exfoliate the skin at most drugstores, or you can have it professionally done at your dermatologist’s office. Most dermatologists perform this cosmetic procedure, if you’re not comfortable doing it yourself. But, sun damage isn’t the only problem many of us face. Irritated, itchy skin can get in the way of skin care beauty as well.

Irritated, itchy skin can be caused by many things, so the first thing you have to do is figure out the cause. Sometimes skin care products contain ingredients you may be allergic to. Try eliminating your cosmetic products one at a time, in order to find the culprit. If allergies aren’t your problem, you’re probably dealing with dry skin, which is why moisturizing is vital to your skin care beauty. To that end, make sure you’re applying a good face cream every time you cleanse your face.

Skin care beauty is a serious matter, which is why it’s so important to include the right skin care products for you. Cosmetic surgery can wait till later, when you have the proper tools and knowledge to improve the most common skin care problems yourself.

Get Rid of Cellulite

September 19th, 2007 by admin

Ok ladies admit it, you have cellulite; its ok, we all do, regardless of whether we are carrying a few extra pounds or not. Why do you think cosmetic surgery has skyrocketed the past few years? I mean we all know how that nasty dimpled skin hampers our skin care beauty. And, no amount of beauty products will cover it up, at least not completely. Now, that’s the bad news, the good news is there are things we can do to combat cellulite at home.

There are countless cosmetic procedures that claim to reduce or get rid of cellulite, and they work to some degree. Procedure such as injections and herbal body wraps offer some relief of cellulite’s nasty effects to our skin care beauty, but they can cost you an arm and a leg. So, why not try some at home beauty products and procedures, before you plunk down that wad of cash? The first step you can take is to detoxify your diet.

Eating foods such as fruits and vegetable improves skin care beauty by ridding the body of unhealthy toxins. Excess water and toxins serve to intensify the look of skin affected by cellulite. That’s why cosmetic procedures like body wraps work, because they draw excess water out of the body. So, why not look at healthy food as beauty products for the outside of the body as well as nourishment for the inside of it. Exfoliating can also reduce the signs of cellulite.

Exfoliation is great for skin care beauty all over the body. Beauty products such as loofah sponges can be used to scrub the cellulite away, and it can be done while you’re in the shower. There are a lot of cosmetic skin care products like natural body scrubs that work great at stimulating the skin where the cellulite lives.

Cellulite is something we all suffer from, but there are ways you can help alleviate it. Whether you decide on a cosmetic procedure or beauty products, take the bull by the horns, and you can improve your skin care beauty.

Pamper Your Feet at Home

September 17th, 2007 by admin

Our feet are probably one of the most abused parts of our body; that’s why pampering them at home is so important. We do everything from squeezing them into tight – albeit fabulous looking shoes – walk around barefoot and stuff them into stinky, old tennis shoes. All of this, and more, take a toll on the skin care beauty of our little tootsies. This is exactly why there are special skin care products just for our feet. But, one of the best things you can do, to tame your tired toes – not too mention hard calluses and rough heels – is to give yourself a foot spa treatment at home. It’s also a great way to apply natural beauty products.

The first thing to keep in mind, when luxuriating in scented beauty, is to ensure you have the proper skin care products for your spa. Aromatherapy is a great way to calm fatigued feet. Purchase Lavender and/or Chamomile oil and pour a small amount in the basin you’re soaking your feet in. Make sure the water is warm, not hot and not cold, and soak for ten to fifteen minutes, in order to calm the aching muscles and soften up the skin. The essential oils in the water are great natural beauty products, and will help soften up the tough skin on your feet. You can also get skin care beauty products like lotions with essential oils as well. Your next step will be to scrub off the dead skin.

Another great skin care product for your feet is a pumice stone. Once your feet have soaked in the warm water, the skin will be soft enough to scrub off the dead skin without too much effort. At this point, the skin care beauty of your feet will already be greatly improved, but there are still a couple more steps. Once you’ve gone through the process of scrubbing your feet with the pumice stone, which is also a great natural beauty product, its time to clip your nails and moisturize.

Our feet take a beating, but with a little care and pampering, you can keep them from looking like dried up claws. Don’t think of it as work, think of it as one way you can give yourself a treat, after all, you deserve it.
